I’m Erica Hughes, an established blogger, and this is my new personal finance site. The site will be dedicated to making the most of your money whether that is by earning and making more of it, or by getting the best value for your cash, or simply being canny about your savings. Over time I’ll be adding lots of new resources to help you do the best you can with the time and money that you have available to you.
Having worked for 15 years in financial services, I have a lot of practical experience. I gained the ACIB and CeMap qualifications during that time, but please note that I am not currently certified to give advice. As well as that I have a lot of real life budgeting experience. I’ve always wanted to make the most of my money, but I’ve been in situations where I have had to make every penny count and I’ve come through with flying colours. Saving money on purchases and finding the savvy way to do things comes naturally to me and I’d like to share my knowledge and experience with you. There are little tricks you can do which will mean that you spend a lot less money, but still have everything you need.
As well as making the most of my money I have been making money from home for over 10 years now. I love the flexibility this gives me and can’t see myself going back to a normal job any time soon. The great thing about working from home is that anyone can do that either as a full time or part time job or as a bit of a side hustle to help oil the financial wheels of life. If you’d like to make a bit of money on the side or find a way to quit the day job, you’ve come to the right place.
By combining saving money on goods and services and earning more money, you can use the extra cash to do something good for you. You may want to pay off your mortgage early or be debt free. This will save you more money each month as you reap the benefits of not having large outgoings. Or you can use that money to supplement your lifestyle. I know I live a much better lifestyle as result of the ways I save and earn money. Or you can use that money to buy a house, pay for a wedding, fund a year out traveling or making your retirement more comfortable.
